Soak up this multi-sensory exhibition exploring sound and memory. Middle Of A Moment celebrates the expansive practice of renowned artist, composer, and curator Aki ONDA (ACC 2017).
Presented by The Substation and Asia TOPA, Arts Centre Melbourne
Based in Mito, Japan, Onda’s Middle Of A Moment is the first survey of their installation work in Australia. Concerned with the interplay between ephemerality and materiality, Onda’s practice is one that lends equal weight to object and subject. They considersthe traces of being, placing focus equally on sense, memory, and site. Middle Of A Moment presents several major works from Onda, including their collection of hand bells, and their work that forms a trace of language through air, 'Nam June's Spirit Was Speaking To Me'.
