”DOKU the Flow,“ the second feature-length film in the DOKU Asia series, will be presented at a solo exhibition by Chinese artist LU Yang (ACC 2013) at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris. This exhibition is part of the Open Space Program, dedicated to contemporary creation.

Through a multidisciplinary practice, characterized by the use of advanced digital technologies and multiple collaborations – designers, composers, psychologists, dancers, engineers or scientists – Lu Yang creates virtual worlds that unfold in the form of immersive video installations. His fantasy universe with post-apocalyptic overtones is the result of a syncretism where the Japanese pop culture of video games, manga, anime and pop music blends with Buddhist spirituality, transhumanist theories, and neuroscientific research. The artist thus gives life to hybrid creatures that transcend notions of identity, gender, sex and nationality to better question what it means to be human in the 21st century.
