Music From Japan

March 04, 2023 - March 05, 2023

Music From Japan features two stunning music pieces in this two day program: "COLORS: Contemporary Vocal Works of Japan" with Rica Narimoto (ACC 2011) and "Current Sounds Japan III". COLORS will showcase seven inspiring vocal pieces preceded by a lecture and Current Sounds will feature select composer's contemporary music.

Felon: An American Washi Tale

Directed by ACC Alumni Elise Thoron (ACC 2008, 2010), Felon: An American Washi Tale, tells the story of a teen's transformation into a poet, lawyer, and promoter of the rights of prisoners. Reginald Dwayne Betts explores the consequences of his incarceration in this powerful solo theater show.

Unlearning by Nature

Nikita Cai (ACC 2019) curates an exhibition focusing on the pan-Southeast Asian experience, typically with monsoons and rich tropical landscapes to creates a platform for diverse research exchange with a goal of promoting mutual understanding between regions.

The Way of Washi Tales: Conversation & Book Launch

Join Kyoko Ibe and Elise Thoron (ACC 2008, 2010) for a celebratory conversation of their new book: The Way of Washi Tales featuring a cross-culture story of collaboration, bilingual performance, and the power of a simple natural material - washi - changing the trajectory of their lives. This event is free and open to the public.
