Tokyo
ACC Tokyo provides artists, scholars, and arts professionals opportunities for transformative cultural exchange between Japan and the United States, as well as Japan and the rest of Asia. Since 1963, we have supported more than 600 exchanges of individuals from Japan. We are a resource for ACC grantees and alumni traveling to the region, a convener of the arts community, and are supported by the fundraising efforts of local donors, foundations, and events.
In 1983, the ACC Tokyo office was established through a generous donation from Seiji Tsutsumi and the Seibu Saison Group. This donation seeded the Japan-United States Art Program, ACC’s endowment dedicated to Japan-U.S. exchange.
From 1993 through 2014, funds for additional endowment in Japan were spearheaded by ACC alumni. To further support our programs and activities in Japan, the Asian Cultural Council Japan Foundation (ACCJF) was established in 2018.
