Join The Asia Society for a screening and discussion of No Rule is Our Rule, a documentary film about the circumstantial differences, characteristic similarities, and years-long friendship between interdisciplinary dance artists Eiko OTAKE (ACC 2021) and WEN Hui (ACC 1996, 1998). Directed, produced and filmed by the artists themselves, No Rule is Our Rule was selected for the Munich New Wave Film Festival and won Best Feature Documentary at Japan International Film Festival this year.

The 76-minute film screening will be followed by a discussion with the artists themselves. Eiko Otake and filmmaker Yiru Chen will converse with Wen Hui, who will return to New York for the first time since 2018 when she presented her work Red at Asia Society. The conversation will be moderated by Zhen Zhang, Professor in the Department of Cinema Studies at NYU Tisch and founding Director of the Asian Film and Media Initiative.
