ArtHub Copenhagen, in collaboration with independent curator Vanini BELARMINO (ACC 2014), presents Gathering: a seminar on the conditions of independent art spaces and initiatives. Taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 4 to 6 April 2025, this three-day exchange convenes over twenty artists and curators from Southeast Asia, Denmark, and Sweden to critically examine the challenges and possibilities of sustaining independent art spaces and initiatives.

Through lived experiences and knowledge exchange, participants will explore existing structures while envisioning new pathways for possibilities for independent art initiatives. The programme features a dynamic blend of keynote presentations, panel discussions, workshops, live performances, and both formal and informal conversations—all aimed at addressing the intersection of local realities and global currents while reaffirming the agency of artists and curators in shaping the evolving cultural landscapes.

Beyond its founder's engagement, Belarmino & Partners is proud to see its programme partners—Mook Attankawong/ATT19 (Bangkok, Thailand),  Adeline Kueh and Hazel Lim-Schledgel/Critical Craft Collective (Singapore) and Charlie Co/Orange Project (Bacolod City, Philippines)—represented at this gathering. The Southeast Asian delegation will also welcome new peers from Liza Ho/ BackroomKL (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) and  Ashley Chiam/Supper House (Singapore), further expanding the conversation on independent artistic practice.

In addition, a special performance programme is curated by Art Hub Copenhagen and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art,  South Korea (MMCA). It features artists Beum-Kyu Choi, Boma Park, Suhwa Kim and Yehwan Song.
