There are few Western woodworkers who have studied under as many Japanese masters, in as many places, over as long a period as Douglas Brooks.
To accompany this evenings workshop and chat, JTA will be putting out a few nibbles and drinks, setting out the chairs and hooking up the laptop for Douglas to give a presentation on his work. Following this, there will be a Q&A to pick Douglas's brain. What took him to Japan originally? How does he negotiate Japanese trades as a Westerner? Why does he love the bagpipes so damn much?
Of course, if you would like Douglas to sign your copy of either of his books, this will be your chance to have him do so.
