Cameron McKinney is the artistic director of the dance company, Kizuna Dance. Kizuna Dance's showcase at APAP at the New York City Center will feature the following work:
"ASCENDANCE"
Inspired in part by the Japanese story structure kishōtenketsu, which doesn't require conflict to tell a compelling story, ASCENDANCE is a thrilling collaboration between Kizuna Dance and Swarthmore College's taiko drumming team. The work combine American contemporary and streetdance forms with an original taiko drum score by Joe Small, performed with live drummers.
