The talk featured 2015 grantee Nao Nishihara, a sound artist who traveled to New York on his fellowship. The guests included ACC alumni, recent grantees, new friends and supporters, as well as board member Yuji Tsutsumi.

Nao-san spoke about his experiences, the artists he met, the variety of places he visited and the venues he performed at. He reflected, since his fellowship ended in 2016, the experience has continued to impact his current artistic practice. His talk culminated in an exemplary performance of that artistic practice, with Nao-san playing the pipe as his kinetic sound sculptures made sounds in space.
