Tang had learnt ink painting and sketch drawing before pursuing theatre studies in France. It is suggested that maybe the source of the fantastic and distinctive visual element in his theatre works indeed stemmed from the early years of ink painting and sketch drawing. During the past few years, he turned what he perceived through life into abstract images, as an act of meditation in unsettling times.
