This coming Pride Month, FIFTH WALL®, the Philippines’ first and only platform for dance film, is collaborating with the Philippine Ballroom Community for Ballroom 101—a series of demo-lectures about the history and culture of Ballroom. 

Ballroom 101 is the newest installation of the FIFTH WALL® Warm Up Classes. Warm Up Classes serve as a space for engagement, interaction, and education where knowledge, passion, and personal experience are placed at the fore. They open dialogues for movement to all kinds of speakers, movers, and listeners—fostering interdisciplinary connections and a collective celebration of dance from all angles™. After hosting Warm Up Classes online for the past three years, Ballroom 101 is the first series to be with both in-person and online venues. 

Ballroom 101 will be hosted by none other than the Trailblazer of the Filipino Ballroom Scene, Xyza Mizrahi and semi-finalist on Legendary Season 3, Nunoy Revlon. Anticipate a special lineup of four unique discussions with different guest speakers in each class. Through this engaging learning series, gain a deeper appreciation for the historical significance and cultural impact of Ballroom. Learn how walking in the ball, and in specific categories, holds special meanings to the Ballroom community themselves.

Ballroom 101 will be held at Stay Up Espresso Bar, Kapitolyo and virtually on Zoom on the weekends of June 10-11 and 17-18.
